Anxiety sufferers:
What does anxiety feel like to me?
- It means an over exaggerated response to basic, everyday things that don’t effect others. It is not something you can always control.
- Severe anxiety feels like I am standing in front of a room full of people fat and naked.
- I have anxiety when I am in large groups, around small children and I also have PSTD from EMS work.
- Missing out on many church activies, difficulty getting to work on time, feeling paralysed.
- It means an over exaggerated response to basic, everyday things that don’t effect others. It is not something you can always control.
- Loosing sleep because as soon as I lay down my mind starts stressing over things that need to get done. Worrying about what others are thinking about my decisions. Not being able to start a big project because I am stressing over the correct starting point.
- For me it is all in my chest and I feel like I can’t breathe.
- In college when I couldn’t bring myself to walk through the doors of my classrooms when I arrived 5 minutes late, that was the anxiety talking. I have avoided things all my life because they caused me too much stress.
- Sometimes for days ,I perseverate after performances or awkward conversations.
